Sam Patranella is a shareholder in the Austin and Midland offices focusing on transactions, title, and corporate matters.  

Sam has substantial experience negotiating and closing energy transactions. His practice consists of representing public and private companies in their acquisitions and divestitures, purchase and sale agreements, operating agreements, farmout agreements, development agreements, and other energy agreements, including operational and exploration matters.  

Sam additionally focuses on all phases of oil and gas title examination, including drilling, division order, acquisition, and mineral opinions, the accompanying curative document preparation, and the diligence of large-scale assets.  

Aided by his in-house and industry experience, Mr. Patranella advises startups and private clients on legal issues arising throughout their life cycle from founding to exit, and all related corporate matters and governance, including master service agreements, confidentiality agreements, human resources matters and employment agreements, and other day to day issues.  

Prior to DGC, Sam was a partner with a global law firm, a successful entrepreneur, initial member, executive and general counsel of Luxe Energy and Luxe Minerals, and in-house counsel with Statoil and Concho Resources.  Sam began his career with DGC in Midland before moving to Austin.

Represented a private company in its construction and numerous crossings of pipeline facilities for a Texas and New Mexico frac sand conveyor belt system, along with a frac sand exploration agreement 

Represented a private company in its formation and acquisition of salt water disposal wells
